GreenStreet Housing Office

Hired for both architectural and interior design, the Fisher team had the pleasure of working with owners Tom Ayd of Green Street Housing and Dave Layfield of Apartment Smart to renovate a historic downtown Salisbury office front into their combined corporate offices. The existing two buildings at 212 and 210 E Main Street were combined pre-mid-19th century and the present-day result was an interior maze of offices. After stripping away the gypsum board partitions and acoustical ceiling, what was uncovered was a stunning structure that simply needed some TLC. We were able to bring the owners vision of a contemporary open office to life by utilizing storefront glass for the office walls that face the common areas. The theme to highlight the existing structure was carried out by keeping the color scheme minimal, exposing the existing brick, keeping the original windows (where permitted or replaced with historical replicas), exposing the structure above, and refinishing the hardwood floors where possible.
