The charred remains of Wicomico Yacht Club have been demolished to make room for a new facility that will be designed by Fisher Architecture. What started as a kitchen fire quickly spread to cause $300,000 in damages to the club back in December 2016. Fisher is working with Commodore Ray Semski, head officer of the yacht’s command staff on the design and layout of the new club to be consistent with the structure’s original footprint. The building will be elevated at least six feet to meet code requirements and sit above the flood point.
“The fire was disastrous,” said Keith Fisher. “As a club member and concerned resident, I wanted to give as much as I could to help serve the club and its membership.”
