Fisher Architecture, LLC Announces A New Project-Hyatt Place Kent Narrows

SALISBURY, MD – March 31, 2015 – Fisher Architecture LLC, a locally owned, experienced architectural firm providing functional design and construction solutions to clients, announced it has been hired by Shore Land Ventures, LLC to enhance the exterior design of Hyatt Place in Fisherman’s Village. The hotel will comprise several parcels of land next to Fisherman’s Inn and Crab Deck off of Kent Narrows Way South along the waterfront in Kent Narrows. 

Shore Land Adventures LLC, chose Fisher Architecture LLC because the company was familiar with the environmental features of the space and the Kent Narrows Community plan.  This design was a coordinated effort between Fisher, owner Shore Land Adventures, LLC, Hyatt Place and Queen Anne’s County.

“We wanted to make sure everyone involved was on board with the design but we also worked diligently to make sure any concerns or questions from the local municipalities were handled efficiently and effectively,” said Keith Fisher, Fisher Architecture LLC.  “The approval process was seamless because we were all communicating and working together.”

Fisher combined the materials of stone, hardi siding and metal roofing to develop decorative towers and parapets on an otherwise flat façade.  Signature elements of Hyatt Place, such as the glass wall and covered entry, were also developed to complement the overall design.  

“Kent Narrows has its own set of rules when it comes to the local zoning code,” said Jody Schulz, Shore Land Ventures, LLC. “We brought Keith Fisher on board because he has done work for us before and understands the local flavor of the community.  We knew he would keep the waterfront character in the design and make sure it reflected neighboring features.

The project will include 99 guestrooms, a conference room including a banquet room with extended deck overlooking the water, a bridal room, and 16,000 square feet of meeting space, a board room, fitness center and indoor pool.  The lobby will have an open floor plan, typical of Hyatt Place including a lounge, gallery, check-in and E-room. 

Developers are adding 181 new parking spaces and expanding the public parking lot to the north of the proposed building in between Kent Narrows Way South and Main Street. Additional parking spaces will also be built adjacent to the hotel and in an underground garage.  Developers also plan to build a waterfront boardwalk at the south end of the property and pave new walking paths between the adjacent lots so that visitors can more easily access public parking and nearby businesses.
