Fisher Architecture LLC new Riverside Drive Location

Fisher Architecture LLC, Office Moves to 542 Riverside Drive in Salisbury

Keith Fisher Guts Former BB&T Bank and Re-Designs to Fit the Company’s Needs

SALISBURY, MD – June, 2015 – Fisher Architecture LLC, a locally owned, experienced architectural firm providing functional design and construction solutions to clients, announced it has moved its office to 542 Riverside Drive in Salisbury, Maryland. The new space accommodates office space for the growing staff of ten. The business phone number (410/742-0238) has not changed with the move.

“We hadn’t been in the Pine Bluff location long and realized we were outgrowing the space quickly,” Keith Fisher, Fisher Architecture LLC. “Not a bad problem to have.  We are continuing to add talented individuals to our team to meet the demands of the market and our community.”

Prior to move in day, Keith Fisher drafted a design for the renovation of what was once a BB&T Bank. He utilized the existing roof structure from the Banks drive-thru and turned it into a conference room while keeping the existing brick façade from the building as a finishing touch to the room. Fisher also re-oriented the entrance to the building in order to create a large open office environment for the studio staff. The new office gives each Architectural and Interior Design departments separate studio spaces.

“During construction we found multiple old windows in the attic from the original building construction with true divided lites and re-used them in several places throughout the building in order to facilitate additional light into the studio space,” added Fisher.

The floor finish is a luxury vinyl plank that cascades between a dark and light wood finish upon entrance and down the hallway. Another custom finishing touch was the addition of a gallery hall featuring all previous work to separate public and private space.

“As our company grows, so will the staff,” said Caitlin Fisher, CFO, Fisher Architecture LLC. “This building allows us to expand by another 4+ staff members, where at which point we then have the opportunity to add on to the existing footprint of the building.”

Recognition Received for Island View Townhomes on 5th Street in Ocean City, MD

SALISBURY, MD – May 27, 2105 – Fisher Architecture LLC, a locally owned, experienced architectural firm providing functional design and construction solutions to clients, announced it has been awarded the New Residential Award for the Island View Townhomes project at 307 5th Street, Ocean City, Maryland.

“The design complies very nicely with our downtown design standards for so many reasons,” said Glenn Irwin, Ocean City Development Corporation. “Particularly the addition to the streetscape with front porches and hiding the parked cars in the rear of the property.”

The building was a total of six units, three stories each with a two car garage on the ground floor and a main front door entrance off Edgewater.  Each unit is a total of 1,970 square feet, 1,500 of which is livable, with the remaining being garage space.  The Fisher Architecture team designed the townhomes to be inverted, with the kitchen and living room on the third floor in order to maximize guest and owner views throughout the day.  Three bedrooms along with two bathrooms are located on the second floor.

Fisher worked closely with owners Ray Shockly and Bob Pomeranz, contractor Joe Jobson with Sekace Homes LLC and civil engineer, Parker & Associates to capitalize on the existing vacant lot and maximize the number of bedrooms while complying with all city regulations for parking,  pervious coverage, and storm water management.

“We are honored to receive this award from such a worthwhile organization,” said Keith Fisher, Fisher Architecture LLC. “It truly took a team effort to bring this project from concept to completion. The team we worked with was professional, on point and made the execution and ease of delivery a seamless process.”

This is Fisher Architecture’s third OCDC award.  In 2014 they were awarded the “Facade Project” for the Marina Deck on 306 Dorchester Street; as well as “Business Assistance Project” for DeLazy Lizard Brew Pub on 25 Philadelphia Avenue.

Fisher Architecture, LLC Announces A New Project-Hyatt Place Kent Narrows

SALISBURY, MD – March 31, 2015 – Fisher Architecture LLC, a locally owned, experienced architectural firm providing functional design and construction solutions to clients, announced it has been hired by Shore Land Ventures, LLC to enhance the exterior design of Hyatt Place in Fisherman’s Village. The hotel will comprise several parcels of land next to Fisherman’s Inn and Crab Deck off of Kent Narrows Way South along the waterfront in Kent Narrows.

Shore Land Adventures LLC, chose Fisher Architecture LLC because the company was familiar with the environmental features of the space and the Kent Narrows Community plan.  This design was a coordinated effort between Fisher, owner Shore Land Adventures, LLC, Hyatt Place and Queen Anne’s County.

“We wanted to make sure everyone involved was on board with the design but we also worked diligently to make sure any concerns or questions from the local municipalities were handled efficiently and effectively,” said Keith Fisher, Fisher Architecture LLC.  “The approval process was seamless because we were all communicating and working together.”

Fisher combined the materials of stone, hardi siding and metal roofing to develop decorative towers and parapets on an otherwise flat façade.  Signature elements of Hyatt Place, such as the glass wall and covered entry, were also developed to complement the overall design.

“Kent Narrows has its own set of rules when it comes to the local zoning code,” said Jody Schulz, Shore Land Ventures, LLC. “We brought Keith Fisher on board because he has done work for us before and understands the local flavor of the community.  We knew he would keep the waterfront character in the design and make sure it reflected neighboring features.

The project will include 99 guestrooms, a conference room including a banquet room with extended deck overlooking the water, a bridal room, and 16,000 square feet of meeting space, a board room, fitness center and indoor pool.  The lobby will have an open floor plan, typical of Hyatt Place including a lounge, gallery, check-in and E-room.

Developers are adding 181 new parking spaces and expanding the public parking lot to the north of the proposed building in between Kent Narrows Way South and Main Street. Additional parking spaces will also be built adjacent to the hotel and in an underground garage.  Developers also plan to build a waterfront boardwalk at the south end of the property and pave new walking paths between the adjacent lots so that visitors can more easily access public parking and nearby businesses.
